Step back in time and dig into history! Join us for an engaging afternoon lecture exploring Queens’ Agricultural Past in our historic Adriance Farmhouse. Uncover the fascinating stories of the borough’s farms and families within the centuries-old rooms of this local landmark, featuring lectures by various Queens historians.

More than Potatoes: Market Farming in Queens
This class explores the vibrant agricultural history of Queens, examining how local market farms fed New York City and supplied nurseries nationwide. Using rarely seen photographs, interviews, and original seed catalogues from area farms like Hallock’s and John Lewis Childs, we’ll trace the supply chains into the city and highlight Queens’ reputation as a center of horticultural excellence.
