Hens
Farm-tastic eggs from our friendly hens!
Our farm currently raises three flocks of hens, all providing fresh eggs that can be purchased at our farm store.
Berry Coop
Breeds: Ameraucana, Copper Marans, Olive Eggers, Brown Leghorns
Our berry coop hens are a mix of breeds, and are what is known as heritage breeds. Heritage chickens are traditional breeds, not bred for improved production. They are slower growing, and maintain a higher genetic diversity than hybrid breeds. They produce green, blue, red, and white eggs.
Orchard Coop
Breed: Bovans Brown Sexlink
Bred for high egg production, this flock is very hardy, docile, and easy to handle. Each hen can produce 4-6 large brown eggs per week.
Sexlinks are chickens that are bred to be sexable (can be identified as male or female) at hatch by key markers such as their feather colors.
