Step back in time and dig into history! Join us for an engaging afternoon lecture exploring Queens’ Agricultural Past in our historic Adriance Farmhouse. Uncover the fascinating stories of the borough’s farms and families within the centuries-old rooms of this local landmark, featuring lectures by various Queens historians.

Newton Pippin Apples
The Newtown Pippin has a storied history as “America’s apple” with origins here in Queens County. Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington and Queen Victoria all had connections to this incredible fruit. In this lecture we’ll dive into the history of Newtown, Queens, where the apple was first discovered, and the history of this apple variety, from its first seedling, to its importance as an export, to its heirloom status today. We’ll also sample dessert products made with Newtown Pippins.
