Garden to Table: Cure a Vegetable and Make a Pie
November 22 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
$20
If you’ve ever wondered how to incorporate veggie-growing techniques into your backyard or community garden, or what vegetables are in season this month (and want a little inspiration for how to cook them), this class is a fun way to find out. You’ll learn about producing your own food from seedling to plate, and taste the flavors of each season. This class is ideal for the home cook, gardener (or aspiring gardener), or even someone whose New Year’s resolution is to eat more vegetables than last year.
During this time of the year there is little left growing on the farm, but there are still vegetables to be eaten!
The vegetable stars of this class are winter squash, pumpkins, potatoes, and sweet potatoes. You’ll take home either pumpkin, squash, or sweet potatoes as well as recipes for pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, and a savory squash or sweet potato dish.
