Bug Buddies: Bagworms

December 7 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

This program is part of our Bug Buddies series!

Bagworms aren’t worms—they’re moth caterpillars that build mobile homes out of twigs and leaves! Discover their clever camouflage, how they survive winter, and why they’re both pests and marvels of adaptation.

Did you know bagworm cases grow as they do? Females never leave theirs, even as adults! In this program, we’ll examine real bagworm cases, learn how they construct them, and discuss their impact on trees.

Classes will take place both outdoors (weather permitting) and indoors. All classes are hands-on, exploratory, and include a related activity.
Recommended for ages 3-10 years old, but all are welcome. One parent or guardian must remain with child(ren) at all times, this is not a drop-off program.
