Forty-two years ago, Queens County Farm Museum launched its inaugural Agricultural Fair as a way to bring the rich traditions of American farm life into the heart of New York City. What began as a community harvest celebration—with blue-ribbon competitions, farm demonstrations, and old-fashioned family fun—was rooted in a simple purpose: to connect New Yorkers with the land, the harvest, and each other.

Today, that spirit continues in our 42nd year. The Queens County Agricultural Fair remains the only event of its kind in New York City, carrying forward time-honored traditions while welcoming new generations to experience agriculture, culture, and community on the city’s largest remaining tract of farmland.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of Queens County Farm Museum as a nonprofit steward of this historic site. For half a century, we’ve worked to preserve the farm, educate visitors, and celebrate the vital role agriculture plays in our city’s story.

As we celebrate both milestones, we’re reminded that this Fair is a living testament to Queens Farm’s enduring legacy. Join us this weekend to honor our past, experience the joy of the Fair, and be part of the next 50 years of history in the making.
