COVID-19 Safety Protocols & Vaccine Requirements (as of August 30th, 2021)

On August 16, 2021, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the Key to NYC vaccination mandate for indoor dining, entertainment and fitness would begin on August 17, 2021 with enforcement beginning September 13, 2021.

This mandate applies to Queens Farm’s indoor activities.

Outside at Queens Farm

Queens Farm Visitors, Staff and Volunteers are permitted outdoors on the farm grounds regardless of vaccination status.  Those individuals not yet vaccinated are required to wear a mask and social distance for their own health and safety and the safety of others.

Inside at Queens Farm

Individuals are exempted from NYC’s Executive Order for Indoor Access and Vaccine Requirements if they are entering an indoor facility/building at Queens Farm for a quick and limited purpose (for example, using the restroom, buying something in the Farm Store, placing or picking up an order or service or performing necessary repairs); and therefore may enter a covered premises without displaying proof of vaccination.  Unvaccinated individuals must wear a face mask at all times if they are unable to maintain six (6) feet of distance from other individuals inside the covered premises.

In compliance with New York City’s vaccine mandate for indoor activities, Queens Farm now requires confirmation of vaccination against COVID-19 of all eligible (12 years of age and over) staff, volunteers, renters and visitors.  

There are multiple ways to show proof of vaccination: 

  • A CDC COVID 19 Vaccination Record Card or an official immunization record from the jurisdiction, state, or country where the vaccine was administered or a digital or physical photo of such card or record, reflecting the person’s name, vaccine brand, and date administered. 
  • The NYC COVID Safe App
  • The New York State Excelsior Pass App
  • Official Vaccine Record (visit
  • Official Vaccine Record of a WHO-approved vaccine administered outside the USA

Additionally, visitors will be required to show proof of identification which matches the details on the proof of vaccination. Acceptable proofs include (but are not limited to) any federally issued photo ID such as a passport, a state issued identification such as a driver’s license, the idNYC card, school ID card, etc.

Children under the age of 12 are not eligible to receive the vaccine, and are therefore not required to show proof of vaccination, but must wear a mask or facial covering at all times when inside Queens Farm facilities and maintain physical distancing whenever possible.

Queens Farm Volunteers and Visitors

Members of the public entering Queens Farm’s indoor facilities/buildings must present proof of vaccination and identification as previously outlined upon arrival and prior to entry. Queens Farm designated staff will monitor compliance. If a visitor refuses to provide proof of vaccination, they will not be allowed access to indoor buildings or facilities at Queens Farm. 

As previously noted, children under the age of 12 are exempt from presenting vaccination proof but are required to wear a mask or face covering at all times inside the Queens Farm facilities and maintain physical distancing wherever possible.
